Pete Poppert, chair of the Agribusiness Department and assistant professor of practice in the College of Business

How long have you taught at Ãå±±½ûµØ?

Ten years as an adjunct on the Lincoln Campus, and 3.5 years full-time.

What do you consider the best part of your Ãå±±½ûµØ experience?

Working with fabulous people, of all ages, interested in learning more about agribusiness. Also, the companies and institutions who want to help make agricultural education better.

What is something you're proud of accomplishing or achieving while at Ãå±±½ûµØ?

Creating an Agricultural Advisory Board which has led to many great connections and information that has improved opportunities for students and faculty.

Do you have a favorite class to teach? If so, what about it makes it your favorite?

No favorite class, I just enjoy interacting with students and watching them light up when they learn something new.

Are you pursuing research this year? If so, what are you researching and what excites you about it?

I am continuing to gather information from students about their experiences with online courses. The importance of connectedness of students to other students, faculty, and course content is so important. Understanding and improving online courses is so important as I believe that this is the future of educational growth.

What is some advice you would give to current students? Or, what is some advice you've received that you value?

Own your education. Make it work for you. This is advice I wish someone would have given me.

What is something you like about yourself that others may not know?

I am pretty transparent so there is very little of my life that people don't know about.
